| "Kamal is a great person" | |
| There are two nouns being used: "Kamal" that names a person and "person" which identifies a class of living beings. | |
| There are different types of nouns, but a particular noun can belong to more than one type: | |
| (i) Proper nouns | |
| (ii) Common nouns | |
| (iii) Concrete nouns | |
| (iv) Abstract nouns | |
| (v) Countable nouns | |
| (vi) Uncountable nouns | |
| (vii) Collective nouns |
