| A proper noun always starts with a capital letter, and it always refers to a specific person, place or thing. | |

| For example days of the week, historical places, name of a university or a person etc. So proper nouns are always specific and indicate or refer to a particular thing or person. (The italicized words below are proper nouns). | |
